HRH National conference: President Kikwete visit CSSC booth

The CSSC booth at the exhibition of the first National Human resource for health (HRH) conference was among of the booths visited by the President of United Republic of Tanzania Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. This was an important opportunity for CSSC to showcase the innovations in HRH and related health systems strengthening.


Apart from HRH innovations, other different materials were displayed including, CSSC activity photos, newsletters and various documentaries produced by CSSC. The conference was held on 3rd -5th September 2013 at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam. At the CSSC booth, President wanted to understand the CSSC vision, mission and activities. He appreciated CSSC participation in social services mainly focusing on health and education. Indeed, he was impressed with CSSC initiatives in complimenting the government efforts to support the provision of quality services to the Tanzania community.


CSSC was one of the key partners who implemented the Tanzania Human Resource Capacity Project (THRP), leading the component of private sector. It implemented the project in collaboration with BAKWATA and APHFTA playing a leading role by organizing information to support government particularly, MOHSW to have comprehensive information of health workers in order to improve the deployment, utilization, management, and retention of the health and social welfare workforce.


Moreover, through THRP intervention some of the results have been realized such as easy access to health information (retrieval to users), easy tracking of HRH concerns from hospitals and accurate data for improving efficacy in planning.


The aim of the HRH conference was to sustain the profile of HRH on the national agenda and mobilize greater investment in resolving the country’s HRH crisis.
