CSSC to deploy HRIS to more health facilities in Northern zone

Due to the good progress of the project, Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) is planning to deploy Human resource information system (HRIS) to more 3 health facilities owned by Faith based organizations at CSSC Northern zone. The exercise expecting to be conducted between January to February 2013.

Speaking at the meeting of sharing experience among decision makers and managers of the facilities implementing HRIS at CSSC Northern zone conducted end last year, CSSC zone secretary Mr. Ireneus Lyimo mentioned that, CSSC Northern Zone has managed to install HRIS to 7 hospitals and trained 18 staffs on data entry, update, utilization, verification and generate reports. These hospitals are Dareda , Kibosho, Arusha Luthern Medical Centre (ALMC), Karatu, Haydom, Huruma and KCMC. He said, the inspiring trend of the mentioned hospitals has caused a demand of the system to more health facilities.

Mr. Lyimo says “we have got requests from Marangu, St. Elizabeth, Kilema, Ngoyoni, Wasso and Enduleni hospital, but our plan for the period of January to February is to install system and train staff at Marangu , Ngoyoni and St. Elizabeth hospital”

Early presenting the use of the system, the Human resource officer of ALMC Mrs. Janeth Itemba said, the use of the system at ALMC allows generating staff report (Tange) easily. Some of the data which can be retrieved through system include employed staff and their employment status.

However, Mrs. Itemba mentioned that, they have used leave report extracted from the system to set clear roster of their staffs that will be going for leave and the hospital future plan if they will manage to get enough funds they will also use Tange report to plan to take some of their staffs for different trainings related to their professionals.
