High rank officials from German Catholic Bishops’ Organisation for Development Cooperation (MISEREOR)visited CSSC HQ and said they are impressed with CSSC’s achievements especially in supporting its member institutions to provide quality social services in the country, health and education services in particularly.

The officials were Dr. Martin Bröckelmann-Simon the Managing Director, International Cooperation Division and Mike who is the Head of Africa and Middle East Department, they  could not hide their feelings when they met CSSC management team in the CSSC conference room.

Dr. Martin said, apart from various challenges that the organisation has been encountering there are notable achievements, which both CSSC and MISEREOR have to be proud of them as the services were aimed at serving peoples‘ life.

Apart from various challenges, there are good things to tell. You have to be proud of them,... we are also proud of “,  said Dr. Martin

However, Mr. Mike said that, within the constructed buildings for either education or health facilities, there are a number of people who have been benefited from the services. „Young people starts their carrer while others get healed, you should maintain by delivering quality services“, he said.

Early, CSSC Executive Director Mr.Peter Maduki, in his presentation, outlined the major challenges that faces CSSC as inadequate funds to support CSSC member institutions on their activities towards quality social services provision.
Moreover, Maduki shared the starategies to encounter the challenges to the coming three years (2013-2015) as to scale up advocacy activities at both zonal and national level. Finalizing the establishment of Medical Supply Company (MEMS), establish mobile medical clinic in the Lake Victoria.

Other strategies are to support government to develop guidelines for referral hospitals and continue supporting member institutions in the area of capacity building through training for health workers and develop sustainability plan for CSSC.
MISEREOR is the German Catholic Bishops’ Organisation for Development Cooperation. For over 50 years MISEREOR has been committed to fight poverty in Africa, Asia and Latin America. MISEREOR’s support is available to any human being in need – regardless of their religion, ethnicity or gender.

MISEREOR therefore believes in supporting initiatives driven and owned by the poor and the disadvantaged. This is because in MISEREOR’s experience it is they themselves who possess the strength to improve their lives sustainably. We support them in their efforts in accordance with the principle of help toward self-help. On the ground, projects are run by local organisations. This ensures that the project work is geared to the needs and way of life of the people involved.
