CSSC wins SADC Gender Protocol Award

The Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) has won the National SADC Gender Protocol Awards in the category of Alliance and Coalition for the year of 2014 after presenting video documentary on outreach service towards maternal death reduction at the Gender summit held in Dar es Salaam.

This category include Civil Society Organizations, Faith Based Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations. The documentary was produced at Dareda hospital in Manyara region showing good performance of Reproductive and Child Health in addressing Millennium Development Goals. Through this award, CSSC is already recognized with outstanding contributions to promote the empowerment of women and ending gender violence in the area of Reproductive and Child

Health rights. This is the second time CSSC is participating at the Gender summit and emerges a winner. In 2013, CSSC won similar award on Kangaroo method applied at Sengerema Hospital at the summit held in Johannesburg South Africa. Kangaroo method is used to assist delivery through children mother handling a child similar to the application of a Kangaroo animal. CSSC has developed a documentation project to enhance sharing and exchanging experiences through best practices. The documentation process started in 2005.
