CSSC visits Education Facilities in Dar es Salaam

In July 2014, CSSC through Education Department has succeeded to visit 58 Education facilities owned by Churches in Dar es Salaam and Coastal regions as a part of identified issues related to education and learn experience from different schools. The tour was conducted to 20 Pre-primary schools, 19 Primary Schools, 16 Secondary Schools and 3 Vocational Training schools.
Through interview conducted to Director of Education Services, Mr. Petro Pamba said that, the aims of the visit were to increase location awareness of different schools, share status experience of different schools and suggest area of improvement.
“We have found that CSSC head office is located in Dar es Salaam but most of church institutions do not know us. Therefore, we want to use this opportunity to build a link among us so as to increase awareness”,he said.
Apparently, the team was much impressed with schools environment including the classrooms designing and administration block structures.
During the visit, some of the issues found as challenges are lack of specific forum among Head of schools at Ward level for sharing and exchanging experiences and unsatisfactory collaboration between Ward Education Coordinators and Head of Schools.
Through discussion, the facilities agreed to undertake intervention as;

To Strengthen Public Private Partnership (PPP) a forum for Head of Schools linked to the Ward Education Coordinator to be initiated and become functional
To have two separate forums for Secondary schools and primary schools
To use CSSC as their focal point for their issues.
