CSSC ventures heavily in healthcare service

The CSSC is one of the leading partner in supporting health care services in Tanzania. The ecumenical organ has drafted several strategic objectives broken down to the activity plan calendar as well as its implementation status pertaining the improvement of health services.

Under Health Department plan, the strategic area that CSSC is focusing consist Advocacy and Lobbying that is enhancement of adherence to policy and legal framework for effective engagement of church (FBOs) institutions in 20 Councils by 2016. It intends to increase number of FBOs hospitals with signed service agreements from 64% in 2013 to 80% in 2016.

Several planned activities have been developed out of this strategic area including establishment and update an inventory of FBO facilities with signed Service Agreement (SA), conduct semi-annual monitoring visits and assess adherence of SA between Councils and health facilities, conduct annual joint supportive supervision with Dioceses, Heads of Health facilities and Local Government Authority officials to assess adherence of National Health Standards to FBOs Health facilities as well as organizing 20 Public Private Partnership (PPP) forums in 20 councils and discuss all issues related to PPP including progress and challenges in implementation of SA at council level
