Africa eHealth Solutions -Tanzania

Africa eHealth Solutions –Tanzania is a new entity established jointly by the Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC), NPK Technologies and International Institute of Communication and Development (IICD) to roll out HMIS implementations especially the use of AfyaPro system in the other areas of Tanzania outside the Lake Zone. Presently, AfyaPro system is effectively used to more 14 health facilities in Lake Zone, enabling tracking of patient’s information flow in improving health delivery service to the particular health facility. Simply, Afya eHealth Solutions has established to manage the Afya Pro software to expand to other health facilities in Tanzania.

Furthermore, Afya Pro is used in Tanga, Ifakara, and Lake Zone with the District Health Management Information Systems (DHMIS) project. Some of the facilities use AfyaPro in Lake Zone include; Nyakahanga, Bukumbi, Mugana, Sumve, Songambele and Sengerema hospital.

 

Malawi

In Malawi Afya Pro is used in Nkhoma hospital and a roll out is planned in three other health facilities.  A new organization is set-up in Malawi to roll-out Afya Pro, called Africa eHealth Solutions Malawi.

 

Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, IICD (together with its partners ICT Ware House and Zalongwa) is implementing the data management aspect of a Result Based Financing Programme and a Voucher programme. These programmes are commissioned by World Bank. Also in Zimbabwe, an organization is set-up for the roll-out of Afya Pro.
